Welcome Tent Set Up
We’re excited to invite volunteers to lend a hand with setting up our Welcome Tent! You’ll help display banners and merchandise, as well as sponsor banners at specific fields. Don’t worry — you’ll receive clear instructions on how to attach the banners with bungee cords and a handy list to guide you on where each sponsor banner goes. Your help will make a difference!
Merchandise Sales @ Welcome Tent
Volunteers need to help kite staff with merchandise sales for night-fly items and kites. You will need to help assemble small bird kites for sale. Must be comfortable with taking money, making change, and being tech-savvy for those who want to pay by PayPal, Venmo, or through QR codes.
Kite Festival Signage Distribution
Volunteer needed to distribute yard/beach signs — 4 signs to each kite flying field designating kite fliers only, in addition to Kite Festival Guidelines at each entry point from 20th–27th Streets. A gator will be provided to help you distribute the field signs.
Pick Up Kite Flier Lunches & Distribute
Volunteers need to pick up the kite fliers’ lunch at Wawa and bring them back to the Welcome Tent on 21st Street, then deliver to each field by gator. You will need to check in at the Welcome Tent first to obtain your volunteer badge and t-shirt to help identify yourselves at Wawa as part of the festival.
Kids Kite Making Volunteers
Volunteers are needed to assist at the kids’ kite-making tent on 20th Street. If you want to see smiles on the faces of children and their parents, this is the perfect volunteer opportunity for you! The kites are already assembled; your role will be to help facilitate the decorating of the kites and teach the kids how to fly them. These kites are easy to launch — just turn your back to the wind and help them get started!
